Description

The Midea M-Thermal Nature R290 MHC-V12WD2RN7-BER90 is the first of the four models with a 9 kW, three-stage heating element, fed from the same three-phase supply; the V10 heater needs its own single-phase supply. Heating output is 12.10 kW (A7W35), 12.30 kW (A7W45) and 11.90 kW (A7W55), with a COP of 4.95, 3.90 and 3.25. It suits a site where the 9.50 kW of the V10 is no longer enough, but a COP of 4.95 and 55 dB(A) matter more than the extra kilowatts of the V14 and V16. Cooling is 11.50 kW (A35W7) and 12.00 kW (A35W18), the refrigerant is R290 (1.5 kg), heating-circuit water reaches 80 °C and domestic hot water 70 °C.

How the V12 differs from the V10 and V14

The closest models in this range are Midea MHC-V10WD2RN7-BE30 and Midea MHC-V14WD2RN7-BER90. The table shows the parameters on which they genuinely differ.

Parameter V10 V12 V14
Heating capacity (A7W35) 9.50 kW 12.10 kW 14.00 kW
Heating capacity (A7W55) 9.50 kW 11.90 kW 13.80 kW
COP (A7W35) 4.95 4.95 4.70
Cooling capacity (A35W18) 10.00 kW 12.00 kW 14.00 kW
Sound power level 54 dB(A) 55 dB(A) 57 dB(A)
Heating element 3 kW, 1 stage, separate single-phase 220–240 V supply 9 kW, 3 stages, same three-phase supply 9 kW, 3 stages, same three-phase supply

Choose the V12 when 9.50 kW is no longer enough but a COP of 4.95 and 55 dB(A) matter more than extra kilowatts. If 9.50 kW is enough, the V10 is quieter (54 dB(A)) and has the higher SCOP (5.33 against 4.94 at 35 °C); if 12.10 kW falls short, the V14 gives 14.00 kW at A7W35, with a COP of 4.70 and 57 dB(A).

What is the MHC-V12WD2RN7-BER90 monobloc air to water heat pump used for?

The Midea MHC-V12WD2RN7-BER90 handles space heating, cooling and domestic hot water: the heating circuit water temperature is adjustable from 25 to 80 °C and hot water from 20 to 70 °C. The cooling modes A35W7 and A35W18 give 11.50 kW and 12.00 kW respectively. As a monobloc, the whole refrigerant circuit sits in one unit (1051×1330×475 mm), which connects to the system with 5/4" water pipes.

How cold can this Midea heat pump run in winter?

In heating mode the V12 operates at outdoor temperatures down to −25 °C. Ice build-up is limited by intelligent defrost and base-pan heating. The sound power level is 55 dB(A), and the model is Quiet Mark certified.

How much less electricity does it use than direct electric heating?

The seasonal efficiency SCOP is 4.94 at 35 °C and 3.96 at 55 °C. From a SCOP of 4.94, the unit uses roughly 80% less electricity than direct electric heating for the same amount of heat. This is a calculation, not a figure stated by the manufacturer.

Power supply and connections

The main unit runs on a three-phase 380–415 V / 3 / 50 Hz supply, and the built-in 9 kW heating element (3 stages) uses the same three-phase supply.

5/4" water connections, water flow 0.70–2.50 m³/h.
