Description

The Midea M-Thermal Nature R290 MHC-V14WD2RN7-BER90 is the middle model of the four: heating output is 14.00 kW (A7W35), 14.10 kW (A7W45) and 13.80 kW (A7W55), with a COP of 4.70, 3.75 and 3.15. Compared with the V12 it gives 1.90 kW more at A7W35, but its COP is 0.25 lower and its sound power level is 57 dB(A) against 55. It suits a site where the V12 falls short but the 15.50 kW of the V16 is not needed. Cooling is 12.40 kW (A35W7) and 14.00 kW (A35W18), the heating element is 9 kW (3 stages), the refrigerant is R290 (1.5 kg), heating-circuit water reaches 80 °C and domestic hot water 70 °C.

How the V14 differs from the V12 and V16

The closest models in this range are Midea MHC-V12WD2RN7-BER90 and Midea MHC-V16WD2RN7-BER90. The table shows the parameters on which they genuinely differ.

Parameter V12 V14 V16
Heating capacity (A7W35) 12.10 kW 14.00 kW 15.50 kW
Heating capacity (A7W55) 11.90 kW 13.80 kW 16.00 kW
COP (A7W35) 4.95 4.70 4.50
Cooling capacity (A35W18) 12.00 kW 14.00 kW 15.00 kW
Sound power level 55 dB(A) 57 dB(A) 59 dB(A)
Water flow 0.70–2.50 m³/h 0.70–2.75 m³/h 0.70–3.00 m³/h

Choose the V14 when the V12 falls short (14.00 kW instead of 12.10 kW at A7W35) and you are fine with a COP of 4.70 and 57 dB(A). If 12.10 kW is enough, the V12 is quieter (55 dB(A)) and has the higher COP (4.95). If you need still more, especially with 55 °C water, take the V16: 16.00 kW at A7W55, but a COP of 3.05 and 59 dB(A).

What is the MHC-V14WD2RN7-BER90 monobloc air to water heat pump used for?

The Midea MHC-V14WD2RN7-BER90 handles space heating, cooling and domestic hot water: the heating circuit water temperature is adjustable from 25 to 80 °C and hot water from 20 to 70 °C. The cooling modes A35W7 and A35W18 give 12.40 kW and 14.00 kW respectively. As a monobloc, the whole refrigerant circuit sits in one unit (1051×1330×475 mm), which connects to the system with 5/4" water pipes.

How cold can this Midea heat pump run in winter?

In heating mode the V14 operates at outdoor temperatures down to −25 °C. Ice build-up is limited by intelligent defrost and base-pan heating. The sound power level is 57 dB(A), and the model is Quiet Mark certified.

How much less electricity does it use than direct electric heating?

The seasonal efficiency SCOP is 4.76 at 35 °C and 3.85 at 55 °C. From a SCOP of 4.76, the unit uses roughly 79% less electricity than direct electric heating for the same amount of heat. This is a calculation, not a figure stated by the manufacturer.

Power supply and connections

The main unit runs on a three-phase 380–415 V / 3 / 50 Hz supply, and the built-in 9 kW heating element (3 stages) uses the same three-phase supply.

5/4" water connections, water flow 0.70–2.75 m³/h.
