Description

The Midea MHC-V16W (MHC-V16W/D2RN8-B2ER90) is the largest model in the M-Thermal PRO R32 Monobloc series: 15.90 kW at A7W35 (COP 4.50) and 16.00 kW at A7W55. It is a three-phase (380–415 V / 3 / 50 Hz) reversible monobloc that heats, cools (14.00 kW at A35W7) and prepares domestic hot water. It suits a high heat demand where a three-phase supply is available; of the models described here, only this one is three-phase.

How the Midea MHC-V16W differs from the MHC-V8W

Parameter MHC-V16W MHC-V8W
Heating output A7W35 / COP 15.90 kW / 4.50 8.40 kW / 5.15
Power supply 380–415 V / 3 / 50 Hz 220–240 V / 1 / 50 Hz
Sound pressure level at 1 m 58.00 dB(A) 48.50 dB(A)
Net weight 129 kg 106 kg
Water flow range 0.70–3.00 m³/h 0.40–1.65 m³/h
Built-in electric heater 9 kW / 3 steps 3 kW / 1 step

Choose the MHC-V16W when the heat demand is high and the building has a three-phase supply: 15.90 kW at A7W35, a flow of up to 3.00 m³/h and a built-in 9 kW electric heater. The trade-off is more noise (a sound power level of 68 dB(A)) and a weight of 129 kg. If you do not need that much output, look at the single-phase MHC-V8W (8.40 kW, 48.50 dB(A) at 1 m); the V10W, V12W and V14W models in between are in the same series.

What is a 16 kW Midea air to water monobloc heat pump used for?

The Midea MHC-V16W suits detached family houses and small commercial sites with a high heat demand: its heating output is 15.90 kW (A7W35), 16.00 kW (A7W45) and 16.00 kW (A7W55), with a water flow of 0.70–3.00 m³/h. The sound pressure level at 1 m is 58.00 dB(A), so the position of the outdoor unit is worth discussing before installation. All hydraulic components sit in the outdoor unit, so only a water pipe enters the building.

  • Heating at outdoor temperatures from −25 to 35 °C
  • Cooling at A35W7 up to 14.00 kW
  • Domestic hot water at 20–60 °C
  • Integration via Modbus RTU and Smart Grid, cascade of up to 6 units

What water temperature and COP can a monobloc heat pump reach for underfloor or radiator heating?

The Midea MHC-V16W supplies heating water at 25–65 °C, and efficiency depends on the temperature you choose: the COP is 4.50 at 35 °C (A7W35), 3.50 at 45 °C and 2.85 at 55 °C. Underfloor heating and low-temperature radiators are therefore where the heat pump runs most economically.

The seasonal SCOP is 4.62 at 35 °C and 3.41 at 55 °C, and the seasonal efficiency ηs is 181.6 % / 133.2 %. By the manufacturer’s calculation (average climate), annual electricity consumption is 6805 kWh at 35 °C and 7896 kWh at 55 °C.

Heat pump installation: what to know about R32 and a certified installer

The Midea MHC-V16W uses R32 refrigerant (1.75 kg, CO₂ equivalent 1181.3 kg), a fluorinated greenhouse gas. The EU regulation requires people working with such equipment to be certified (translated from the Lithuanian version of the text):

“Natural persons carrying out the activities referred to in points (a), (b) and (c) of the first subparagraph of Article 10(1) shall be certified in accordance with Article 10.”

Regulation (EU) 2024/573 on fluorinated greenhouse gases

In practice, you cannot install and commission a heat pump yourself: installation, charging and servicing are done by a certified specialist, and the work is recorded.

We handle it for you. We select the equipment for your site, deliver anywhere in Lithuania, install and connect it.

Frequently asked questions

What heating output does the Midea MHC-V16W have?

At A7W35 the Midea MHC-V16W delivers 15.90 kW with a COP of 4.50. At A7W45 the output is 16.00 kW, and at A7W55 it is 16.00 kW.

What are the COP and SCOP of the Midea MHC-V16W?

The COP of the Midea MHC-V16W at A7W35 is 4.50, and the seasonal SCOP is 4.62 at 35 °C and 3.41 at 55 °C leaving water. The manufacturer states efficiency class A+++ (35 °C) / A++ (55 °C).

Is the Midea MHC-V16W suitable for radiator heating?

Yes, the Midea MHC-V16W supplies heating water up to 65 °C, and the COP at A7W55 is 2.85. The lower the water temperature, the higher the COP: it is 4.50 at 35 °C, so underfloor heating suits it especially well.

Does the Midea MHC-V16W heat when it is −25 °C outside?

Yes, the manufacturer states that the Midea MHC-V16W operates in heating mode at outdoor temperatures from −25 °C to 35 °C. In domestic hot water mode the range is −25 to 43 °C.

Can the Midea MHC-V16W cool a house?

Yes, the Midea MHC-V16W is reversible: at A35W7 the cooling capacity is 14.00 kW (EER 2.50) and at A35W18 it is 14.20 kW (EER 3.61). Cooling mode works at outdoor temperatures from −5 to 43 °C.

How noisy is the Midea MHC-V16W?

The sound power level of the Midea MHC-V16W according to EN 12102-1 is 68 dB(A), and the sound pressure level at 1 m at A7W35 is 58.00 dB(A). It is worth placing the outdoor unit away from bedroom windows and the neighbour’s plot.

What power supply does the Midea MHC-V16W need?

The Midea MHC-V16W needs a three-phase 380–415 V / 3 / 50 Hz supply, with a minimum circuit ampacity (MCA) of 25 A. The built-in heating element is 9 kW / 3 stages.

Can several Midea MHC-V16W units be cascaded?

Yes, the manufacturer states that up to 6 heat pumps can be connected in a cascade. The Midea MHC-V16W also has Modbus RTU and Smart Grid, so it can be integrated into a building management system.

Can I install the Midea MHC-V16W myself?

No, the Midea MHC-V16W uses R32 refrigerant (1.75 kg), so only a certified specialist may install and commission it. Hybrid Energy does it for you: we deliver anywhere in Lithuania, install and connect it.

Does Hybrid Energy help choose the right heat pump size?

Yes, Hybrid Energy sizes the heat pump by your building’s heat loss, not by floor area. The series has 7 models from 4 to 16 kW, and the Midea MHC-V16W delivers 15.90 kW at A7W35. A consultation before purchase is free.
