Description

The Midea MHC-V8W (MHC-V8W/D2N8-B2E30) is a single-phase 8.40 kW air to water monobloc with the highest COP and SCOP in the series: COP 5.15 at A7W35 and SCOP 5.22 at 35 °C. It is reversible: it heats, cools (7.45 kW at A35W7) and prepares domestic hot water, in a larger cabinet than the MHC-V6W (1385×865×523 mm, 106 kg). It suits sites where 6.35 kW is not enough and the building has a single-phase supply.

Choose the MHC-V8W when 6.35 kW is not enough but you do not need a three-phase supply: it gives 8.40 kW with a COP of 5.15 and an SCOP of 5.22 at 35 °C. If less output is enough, look at the MHC-V6W (6.35 kW, 90 kg). If you need about 16 kW or a three-phase supply (380–415 V), take the MHC-V16W; the V10W, V12W and V14W models are in the same series.

What is an 8 kW Midea air to water monobloc heat pump used for?

The Midea MHC-V8W suits sites that need more heat but can run on a single-phase supply: its heating output is 8.40 kW (A7W35), 8.10 kW (A7W45) and 7.50 kW (A7W55), with a water flow of 0.40–1.65 m³/h. The sound pressure level at 1 m is 48.50 dB(A). All hydraulic components sit in the outdoor unit, so only a water pipe enters the building.

  • Heating at outdoor temperatures from −25 to 35 °C
  • Cooling at A35W7 up to 7.45 kW
  • Domestic hot water at 20–60 °C
  • Integration via Modbus RTU and Smart Grid, cascade of up to 6 units

What water temperature and COP can a monobloc heat pump reach for underfloor or radiator heating?

The Midea MHC-V8W supplies heating water at 25–65 °C, and efficiency depends on the temperature you choose: the COP is 5.15 at 35 °C (A7W35), 3.85 at 45 °C and 3.18 at 55 °C. Underfloor heating and low-temperature radiators are therefore where the heat pump runs most economically.

The seasonal SCOP is 5.22 at 35 °C and 3.36 at 55 °C, and the seasonal efficiency ηs is 205.6 % / 131.5 %. By the manufacturer’s calculation (average climate), annual electricity consumption is 3218 kWh at 35 °C and 4056 kWh at 55 °C.

Heat pump installation: what to know about R32 and a certified installer

The Midea MHC-V8W uses R32 refrigerant (1.40 kg, CO₂ equivalent 945.0 kg), a fluorinated greenhouse gas. The EU regulation requires people working with such equipment to be certified (translated from the Lithuanian version of the text):

“Natural persons carrying out the activities referred to in points (a), (b) and (c) of the first subparagraph of Article 10(1) shall be certified in accordance with Article 10.”

Regulation (EU) 2024/573 on fluorinated greenhouse gases

In practice, you cannot install and commission a heat pump yourself: installation, charging and servicing are done by a certified specialist, and the work is recorded.

We handle it for you. We select the equipment for your site, deliver anywhere in Lithuania, install and connect it.

Frequently asked questions

What heating output does the Midea MHC-V8W have?

At A7W35 the Midea MHC-V8W delivers 8.40 kW with a COP of 5.15. At A7W45 the output is 8.10 kW, and at A7W55 it is 7.50 kW.

What are the COP and SCOP of the Midea MHC-V8W?

The COP of the Midea MHC-V8W at A7W35 is 5.15, and the seasonal SCOP is 5.22 at 35 °C and 3.36 at 55 °C leaving water. The manufacturer states efficiency class A+++ (35 °C) / A++ (55 °C).

Is the Midea MHC-V8W suitable for radiator heating?

Yes, the Midea MHC-V8W supplies heating water up to 65 °C, and the COP at A7W55 is 3.18. The lower the water temperature, the higher the COP: it is 5.15 at 35 °C, so underfloor heating suits it especially well.

Does the Midea MHC-V8W heat when it is −25 °C outside?

Yes, the manufacturer states that the Midea MHC-V8W operates in heating mode at outdoor temperatures from −25 °C to 35 °C. In domestic hot water mode the range is −25 to 43 °C.

Can the Midea MHC-V8W cool a house?

Yes, the Midea MHC-V8W is reversible: at A35W7 the cooling capacity is 7.45 kW (EER 3.35) and at A35W18 it is 8.30 kW (EER 5.05). Cooling mode works at outdoor temperatures from −5 to 43 °C.

How noisy is the Midea MHC-V8W?

The sound power level of the Midea MHC-V8W according to EN 12102-1 is 59 dB(A), and the sound pressure level at 1 m at A7W35 is 48.50 dB(A). It is worth placing the outdoor unit away from bedroom windows and the neighbour’s plot.

What power supply does the Midea MHC-V8W need?

The Midea MHC-V8W needs a single-phase 220–240 V / 1 / 50 Hz supply, with a minimum circuit ampacity (MCA) of 29 A. The built-in heating element is 3 kW / 1 stage.

Can several Midea MHC-V8W units be cascaded?

Yes, the manufacturer states that up to 6 heat pumps can be connected in a cascade. The Midea MHC-V8W also has Modbus RTU and Smart Grid, so it can be integrated into a building management system.

Can I install the Midea MHC-V8W myself?

No, the Midea MHC-V8W uses R32 refrigerant (1.40 kg), so only a certified specialist may install and commission it. Hybrid Energy does it for you: we deliver anywhere in Lithuania, install and connect it.

Does Hybrid Energy help choose the right heat pump size?

Yes, Hybrid Energy sizes the heat pump by your building’s heat loss, not by floor area. The series has 7 models from 4 to 16 kW, and the Midea MHC-V8W delivers 8.40 kW at A7W35. A consultation before purchase is free.
