Midea M-Thermal-12B3HB2 is the lowest-capacity three-phase (380–415 V) model among the M-Thermal PRO Split heat pumps: it delivers 12.10 kW of heat at A7W35 with COP 4.95, SCOP 4.81 (35 °C) and 3.45 (55 °C), and its outdoor unit has a sound power level of 64 dB(A). Of the three three-phase models (12, 14 and 16 kW) it has the highest COP and SCOP and the quietest outdoor unit, so it fits a site with a three-phase supply where the 10 kW single-phase model is not enough for the building’s heat loss.

Choose the M-Thermal-12B3HB2 when you have a three-phase supply and the building’s heat loss needs more than 10 kW. Compared with the single-phase M-Thermal-10B1HB2 it has a three-phase supply, a 9 kW heater and 2.10 kW more capacity at A7W35, but a lower SCOP (35 °C): 4.81 instead of 5.20. If 12 kW is not enough, look at the M-Thermal-14B3HB2: 14.50 kW, but COP 4.70 and SCOP 4.72 (35 °C). All three three-phase models share the same indoor module HB-A160/CDS90GN8-B2, 9 kW heater and 1.84 kg of R32.
What flow temperature does the M-Thermal-12B3HB2 heat pump supply?
In heating mode M-Thermal-12B3HB2 supplies water at 25–65 °C and works at outdoor temperatures from −25 to 35 °C. The higher the flow temperature, the lower the COP: 4.95 at A7W35, 3.80 at A7W45 and 3.10 at A7W55, with heating capacity of 12.10, 12.30 and 12.00 kW respectively.
- Seasonal efficiency: SCOP 4.81 at 35 °C and 3.45 at 55 °C.
- Seasonal space heating efficiency ηs: 189.3 % (35 °C) and 135.1 % (55 °C).
- Annual electricity consumption per the manufacturer: 5153 kWh (35 °C) and 6928 kWh (55 °C).
We agree the flow temperature (underfloor heating or radiators) with you, because real-world efficiency depends on it.
Split air to water heat pump: outdoor unit, hydraulic module and connections
M-Thermal-12B3HB2 consists of the outdoor unit MHA-V12W/D2RN8-B2 and the wall-mounted hydraulic module HB-A160/CDS90GN8-B2, linked by refrigerant piping up to 30 m long. The module already contains a circulation pump, expansion vessel, sensors and protection devices, which means less work on site during installation.
- Piping: up to 15 m without topping up refrigerant, height difference between the units up to 20 m; connections gas 5/8″, liquid 3/8″.
- Water side: connections 1″ / 1″, flow rate 0.70–3.00 m³/h.
- Control and communication: wired controller, mobile app, Modbus RTU, cascade connection.
- Additional heat sources: these can be connected, according to the manufacturer’s datasheet.
Does the M-Thermal-12B3HB2 heat pump make domestic hot water?
M-Thermal-12B3HB2 heats domestic hot water to 20–60 °C and can do so at outdoor temperatures from −25 to 43 °C. The built-in 9 kW electric heater (3 stages) switches on automatically during peak load or in very cold conditions. The specification of this kit does not state a hot water tank capacity, so we select it to match your needs.
Why a heat pump must be installed by a certified specialist
M-Thermal-12B3HB2 uses R32 refrigerant (1.84 kg, CO2 equivalent 1242.0 kg), a fluorinated greenhouse gas. EU regulation requires people working with such equipment to be certified. The regulation states (our translation from the Lithuanian version):
“Natural persons carrying out the activities referred to in points (a), (b) and (c) of the first subparagraph of Article 10(1) shall be certified in accordance with Article 10.”
In practice this means you cannot connect a heat pump yourself: installation, refrigerant charging and servicing must be done by a certified specialist.
We handle it for you. We select the equipment for your site, deliver anywhere in Lithuania, install and connect it.
