How the M-Thermal-16B3HB2 differs from M-Thermal-14B3HB2
| Parameter | M-Thermal-14B3HB2 | M-Thermal-16B3HB2 |
|---|---|---|
| Heating capacity A7W35 | 14.50 kW | 16.00 kW |
| Heating capacity A7W55 | 13.80 kW | 16.00 kW |
| COP at A7W55 | 3.00 | 2.90 |
| SCOP (35 °C) | 4.72 | 4.62 |
| Annual electricity consumption (35 °C) | 6013 kWh | 6805 kWh |
| Outdoor unit sound pressure level at 1 m | 51 dB(A) | 55 dB(A) |
Choose the M-Thermal-16B3HB2 when the building’s heat loss needs the most heat this series can give and you have a three-phase supply. Compared with the M-Thermal-14B3HB2 you get 1.50 kW more at A7W35 and 16.00 kW at A7W55 (13.80 kW for the 14 kW model), but COP at A7W55 is lower (2.90 vs 3.00) and the outdoor unit is louder. If 14.50 kW is enough, the M-Thermal-14B3HB2 is the more efficient choice; if 12 kW is enough, look at the M-Thermal-12B3HB2. The indoor module, heater and dimensions are the same across all three-phase models.
What flow temperature does the M-Thermal-16B3HB2 heat pump supply?
In heating mode M-Thermal-16B3HB2 supplies water at 25–65 °C and works at outdoor temperatures from −25 to 35 °C. The higher the flow temperature, the lower the COP: 4.50 at A7W35, 3.60 at A7W45 and 2.90 at A7W55, with heating capacity of 16.00, 16.00 and 16.00 kW respectively.
- Seasonal efficiency: SCOP 4.62 at 35 °C and 3.41 at 55 °C.
- Seasonal space heating efficiency ηs: 181.6 % (35 °C) and 133.2 % (55 °C).
- Annual electricity consumption per the manufacturer: 6805 kWh (35 °C) and 7896 kWh (55 °C).
We agree the flow temperature (underfloor heating or radiators) with you, because real-world efficiency depends on it.
Split air to water heat pump: outdoor unit, hydraulic module and connections
M-Thermal-16B3HB2 consists of the outdoor unit MHA-V16W/D2RN8-B2 and the wall-mounted hydraulic module HB-A160/CDS90GN8-B2, linked by refrigerant piping up to 30 m long. The module already contains a circulation pump, expansion vessel, sensors and protection devices, which means less work on site during installation.
- Piping: up to 15 m without topping up refrigerant, height difference between the units up to 20 m; connections gas 5/8″, liquid 3/8″.
- Water side: connections 1″ / 1″, flow rate 0.70–3.00 m³/h.
- Control and communication: wired controller, mobile app, Modbus RTU, cascade connection.
- Additional heat sources: these can be connected, according to the manufacturer’s datasheet.
Does the M-Thermal-16B3HB2 heat pump make domestic hot water?
M-Thermal-16B3HB2 heats domestic hot water to 20–60 °C and can do so at outdoor temperatures from −25 to 43 °C. The built-in 9 kW electric heater (3 stages) switches on automatically during peak load or in very cold conditions. The specification of this kit does not state a hot water tank capacity, so we select it to match your needs.
Why a heat pump must be installed by a certified specialist
M-Thermal-16B3HB2 uses R32 refrigerant (1.84 kg, CO2 equivalent 1242.0 kg), a fluorinated greenhouse gas. EU regulation requires people working with such equipment to be certified. The regulation states (our translation from the Lithuanian version):
“Natural persons carrying out the activities referred to in points (a), (b) and (c) of the first subparagraph of Article 10(1) shall be certified in accordance with Article 10.”
In practice this means you cannot connect a heat pump yourself: installation, refrigerant charging and servicing must be done by a certified specialist.
We handle it for you. We select the equipment for your site, deliver anywhere in Lithuania, install and connect it.
