What is the Deye smart plug for?

The SUN-SMART-PLUG01P1-F is for adding an ordinary household appliance to Deye energy management without tools and without extra wiring: you plug the smart plug into the socket and the appliance into the smart plug. The appliance becomes a controllable consumer of solar energy that can be switched on manually, by time or by battery state of charge. According to the manufacturer’s instructions, you can also plug a microinverter plug or a single-phase load into the Smart Plug.

Does the smart plug need the SUN-SMART-TX01 transmitter?

Yes. To communicate with a Deye hybrid inverter you need the SUN-SMART-TX01 transmitter, which is sold separately and connects to the inverter Meter port. The manufacturer states that all Deye hybrid inverters are supported. Without the transmitter the plug works as a simple switch, with no link to the system.

How do you control an appliance by schedule or battery charge?

The plug can be controlled manually (with the button on the housing, the Deye Cloud app, the inverter screen or the Deye Cloud website) or automatically: by a time schedule (Time) or by battery charge level (SOC). On first connection you need to run channel scanning so that the plug finds the transmitter. The blue and green LEDs show the LoRa link, relay state and overload.

We can help you choose. Hybrid Energy will check compatibility with your Deye system and select the plug together with the SUN-SMART-TX01 transmitter.

What load can the plug handle and is it suitable outdoors?

The maximum current is 16 A at 220–250 V AC. If the current exceeds 16 A for longer than 20 s, the load is disconnected. The plug is rated IP20, so it is for indoor use only, not for outdoors.
