What is a 10 kW three-phase hybrid inverter with battery storage used for?
The Solis S6-EH3P10K-H-EU suits a home or commercial three-phase solar system where you want to store solar energy in a battery and use it after dark.
- During the day solar power runs your loads and the surplus charges the battery; after dark the inverter switches to the battery.
- For roofs facing different directions (for example east and west) or partly shaded roofs: the inverter has 4 MPPT trackers and 4 string inputs.
- For back-up power when the grid goes down: switchover takes under 10 ms.
- For systems without a grid connection: the inverter has an Off-grid operating mode.
- For sites that need to limit the power drawn from the grid (Peakshaving mode).
Which battery can you connect to the Solis S6-EH3P10K-H-EU?
Only high-voltage lithium-ion batteries with a voltage of 120–600 V can be connected (up to 700 V if stated on the product and packaging).
The inverter exchanges data with the battery BMS over CAN. Maximum charge and discharge power is 10 kW, at 50 A. We help you pick a battery that works with this inverter; the consultation before purchase is free. This model does not work with low-voltage batteries.
How do back-up power and Peakshaving mode work?
When the grid fails, the Solis S6-EH3P10K-H-EU switches to back-up power in under 10 ms and supplies 10 kW, with up to 16 kVA for 60 s.
In Peakshaving mode the inverter limits the maximum power drawn from the grid and the battery supplies the missing part. It also has Self-Use, Feed in Priority, Off-grid and Time of Use (TOU) modes, and the load can be unbalanced between phases: up to 50 % of nominal power on one phase.
How do you connect a hybrid inverter to a solar array and the grid?
The Solis S6-EH3P10K-H-EU connects to the solar modules through 4 string inputs (up to 1000 V, MPPT range 200–850 V, up to 4 × 16 A) and to the grid through a 3/N/PE 400 V connection.
A hybrid inverter can do more than export surplus to the grid: it can keep it for yourself. ESO (Lithuanian grid operator) states:
“Part of the surplus electricity generated can be stored in an energy storage device and used in the evening.”
ESO adds on the same page that a storage system lets you reduce the power fed into the distribution grid, so in some cases a larger solar PV system can be connected than grid limits alone would allow.
We handle it for you. We select the equipment for your site, deliver anywhere in Lithuania, install and connect it.
