How does home battery storage work with solar panels?
The battery runs in the Hiconics system together with the inverter and keeps surplus solar energy for the evening. ESO (Lithuanian grid operator) states:
“Part of the surplus electricity generated can be stored in an energy storage device and used in the evening.”
ESO adds that a storage system reduces the power fed into the distribution grid, so in some cases a larger solar PV system can be connected than grid limits alone would allow.
