The DOSPEL DRAGON 1500 is the larger of the two single DRAGON turbines: 1.5 kW by name (the manufacturer states more than 1500 W), 150 × 240 cm and 130 kg, against 100 × 170 cm and 50 kg for the DRAGON 1000. It is the standard version without COLOR, for buyers who need one stronger turbine and do not care about colour. Start-up is from 1.2 m/s, the rated wind speed is 11 m/s, the rated voltage is 24 V AC or 48 V AC, for OFF-GRID and ON-GRID systems. The matching inverter is the SolarInvert WIN 1500-48.

Choose the DRAGON 1500 when you need one more powerful turbine and do not need to pick a colour. If colour matters, look at the DRAGON 1500 COLOR with the same parameters. If 1 kW and 50 kg are enough, look at the DRAGON 1000 COLOR; if you need 3 kW by name from three turbines, look at the DRAGON PACKAGE 3×1000 COLOR.
Vertical wind turbine for home and farm: who is the DRAGON 1500 for
The DOSPEL DRAGON 1500 is designed to power houses, farm buildings and gazebos, and can be mounted on a roof. Its start-up speed of 1.2 m/s means it can produce electricity on light-wind days too.
- Remote sites and small farm buildings, where energy is stored in batteries
- As an addition to a photovoltaic system: the manufacturer’s diagrams include a hybrid one with PV panels
- Installation on the ground, near trees or buildings, without a separate mast
- Places where the wind keeps changing: the design catches wind from all directions, including wind reflected from buildings, trees and the ground
Compared with the DRAGON 1000, the DRAGON 1500 is larger and heavier: 150 × 240 cm against 100 × 170 cm, and 130 kg against 50 kg. The turbines can be connected in series or in parallel.
24 V and 48 V wind generator: what else you need to connect
The DRAGON 1500 works with 24 V or 48 V controllers, and no controller is included: we select it together with the batteries for your site. The turbine produces three-phase alternating current, and the controller converts it to direct current.
The manufacturer gives three diagrams: OFF-GRID (bridge rectifier, charge controller with a brake, battery bank and an inverter to 230 V), ON-GRID through an inverter, and a hybrid one with PV panels.
The turbine does not connect to the home grid by itself and needs a wind inverter. For this turbine there is the SolarInvert WIN 1500-48 wind inverter for the DOSPEL DRAGON 1500 turbine: it is factory-configured for the DRAGON power curve and starts working from 26 V, while most mass-market grid inverters start at about 150 V.
How is a wind turbine installed: wall, roof or mast
The manufacturer provides three mounting methods: on a building wall, on a pitched roof (6 bolts and M12 nuts) and on a flat roof (standard concrete blocks of 380×240×120 mm).
The turbine can also stand on concrete or metal poles, lattice masts and roof bases. The mounting bracket is made of 6 mm steel and suits flat and pitched (45°) roofs, with fixing bolts included; the bracket and the brake controller are sold separately.
Is there enough wind where you live in Lithuania
This turbine starts producing electricity from 1.2 m/s, but whether that is enough depends on the site, not on the turbine. Wind differs a lot from one place to another, so before buying, look up your own district on the Lithuanian Hydrometeorological Service wind page rather than relying on a national average.
What wind does the mast have to withstand
People think about this less often than power, yet this is where failures start. The Lithuanian Hydrometeorological Service states (translated):
“The highest wind speed recorded in Lithuania’s observation history was 40 m/s.”
Lithuanian Hydrometeorological Service — Wind (translated from Lithuanian)
So when choosing, it matters not only at what wind speed the turbine starts producing, but also how the mast is fixed: the foundation, guy wires and fastening points decide more than the turbine itself.
The DRAGON 1500 weighs 130 kg and measures 150 × 240 cm, so the foundation, guy wires and fastening points matter more here than with the 50 kg DRAGON 1000.
We handle it for you. We select the equipment for your site, deliver anywhere in Lithuania, install and connect it. We help assess the site and the mast height, choose the turbine and inverter pair and explain what foundation your ground needs.
Frequently asked questions
At what wind speed does the DRAGON 1500 start producing electricity?
From 1.2 m/s. The DOSPEL DRAGON 1500 has a rated wind speed of 11 m/s, and the low start-up speed matters in Lithuania, where for most of the year the wind is light.
What is the power of the DRAGON 1500?
1.5 kW by name; the manufacturer states more than 1500 W (Dragon 1500+). The rated wind speed is 11 m/s.
How noisy is the DRAGON 1500?
The manufacturer states less than 44 dB at 8 m/s wind (PN-EN 61400-11); the official DOSPEL page notes that this was measured at a distance of 3 m.
What are the weight and dimensions of the DRAGON 1500?
The DOSPEL DRAGON 1500 weighs 130 kg and measures 150 × 240 cm.
Which voltages does the DRAGON 1500 work with: 24 V or 48 V?
Both: the DOSPEL DRAGON 1500 has rated voltages of 24 V AC and 48 V AC and works with 24 V or 48 V controllers. No controller is included, so Hybrid Energy selects it together with the batteries.
Can the DRAGON 1500 be connected to the home grid?
Not directly: the turbine does not connect to the home grid by itself and needs a wind inverter. Our shop offers the SolarInvert WIN 1500-48 wind inverter for the DOSPEL DRAGON 1500 turbine, which starts working from 26 V.
Where can the DRAGON 1500 be installed: on a roof or on a mast?
The manufacturer provides installation on a wall, on a pitched roof (6 M12 bolts), on a flat roof (concrete blocks of 380×240×120 mm) or on concrete or metal poles. Hybrid Energy chooses the mounting to suit your building.
What temperature does the DRAGON 1500 work in?
According to the manufacturer, the operating temperature is from −25 °C to +45 °C. The DOSPEL DRAGON 1500 complies with CE and IEC 61400.
Do I need a permit to build a wind turbine in Lithuania?
It depends on the power, the mast height and the plot: requirements differ and are stricter in protected areas. Tell us before ordering where you plan to build, and we will find out together what applies in your case.
