The Deye SUN-20K-SG05LP3-EU-SM2 is a three-phase (3L+N+PE) hybrid inverter with a rated AC power of 20 kW (22,000 VA maximum apparent power), 2 MPPTs, a 160–650 V MPPT range and up to 97.6 % efficiency. It is built for 40–60 V (48 V) batteries with a charge and discharge current of up to 350 A. The series is intended for medium and large solar systems with or without storage, and IP65 protection allows outdoor mounting.

Deye 20 kW hybrid inverter: who is it for?
The 20 kW model is the most powerful in a series covering 14 to 20 kW. According to the manufacturer, the series is intended for both medium and large photovoltaic systems.

Inverter with battery: which batteries can I use?
The SUN-20K-SG05LP3-EU-SM2 connects to 40–60 V low-voltage batteries, lead-acid or lithium-ion, and the maximum charge and discharge current is 350 A each. With a lithium-ion battery the charging strategy adapts to the battery’s BMS. We choose the specific battery model and capacity according to your consumption.

Up to 40,000 W of PV power can be connected to this inverter, and the maximum PV input power is 32,000 W. The inverter has 2 MPPTs with 2 strings each, and an MPPT voltage range of 160–650 V.

Off-grid operation, backup and generator
The inverter works grid-connected, off-grid and as a backup source, and passes up to 70 A from the grid to the load through the bypass. The manufacturer states that energy can also be stored from a diesel generator. Up to 10 inverters can be connected in parallel.
