The CAT Caterpillar DE65GC is a three-phase diesel generator with a standby rating of 65 kVA / 52 kW, 380-415 V, 50 Hz and 1,500 rpm. It is powered by a CAT C3.3 engine (3.3 l), has a GCCP 1.1 controller and comes in a factory-fitted sound-attenuated outdoor canopy. It is intended for backup power at production sites, warehouses, farms, construction sites and infrastructure, where work stops as soon as the electricity goes off. 65 kVA is a standby rating, not a continuous one.

Diesel generator for production sites, warehouses and farms
- Production and warehouse sites, where a power cut stops work immediately
- Farms and construction sites
- Infrastructure sites that need backup power
Standby or continuous power: is the DE65GC suitable for 24/7 use?
65 kVA / 52 kW is a standby rating, so this figure cannot be used for continuous 24/7 operation: that needs a prime or continuous-rated unit. The ratings are given at a 0.8 power factor, which is why 65 kVA corresponds to 52 kW.
Before the order we assess your real base load, load peaks and the starting currents of electric motors, and if you need continuous duty we offer a suitable alternative.
Generator with ATS: do you need automatic start?
Yes, if you want the generator to start by itself: without ATS automation it does not start on its own. The ATS panel, cables, earthing and installation are not included and are quoted separately for your site.
Backup generator size: how to choose the power
We select the power from your continuous and peak load in kW, the largest electric motor and its starting method. It also matters whether automatic changeover between the grid and the generator is needed, and where the generator has to be delivered and installed.
We handle it for you. We select the equipment for your site, deliver anywhere in Lithuania, install and connect it.
What to know before you buy
- Power: 65 kVA / 52 kW is a standby rating
- Not included: ATS panel, cables, unloading, foundation, earthing, installation, fuel, commissioning and load test
- Other CAT models are available on request; the Caterpillar 50 Hz diesel generator range covers 6.8 to 7,150 kVA
Frequently asked questions
How many kW is the CAT DE65GC?
The CAT Caterpillar DE65GC has a standby rating of 65 kVA / 52 kW, because 65 kVA at a 0.8 power factor equals 52 kW.
Is the DE65GC suitable for continuous 24/7 use?
Not at this rating: 65 kVA / 52 kW is a standby rating. Continuous duty needs a prime or continuous-rated unit, so Hybrid Energy selects the right class for your actual load.
Does the DE65GC start by itself when the power goes off?
No, the DE65GC does not start on its own without ATS automation. The ATS panel is not included and is installed separately.
What are the voltage and frequency of the DE65GC?
The CAT Caterpillar DE65GC is a three-phase generator with a voltage of 380-415 V and a frequency of 50 Hz, running at 1,500 rpm.
What is not included with the DE65GC?
The ATS panel, cables, unloading, foundation, earthing, installation, fuel, commissioning and load test are not included.
How long will the DE65GC run on a full tank?
It depends on the load: running time depends on how many kW the generator actually delivers. The DE65GC has a standard single-wall fuel tank, and Hybrid Energy calculates the exact running time for your load.
What information is needed to choose a DE65GC?
We need your continuous and peak load in kW, the largest electric motor and its starting method, whether automatic changeover is needed, and where the generator has to be delivered and installed. Contact Hybrid Energy and we will select a solution.
What is the difference between standby and prime power?
Standby is the power for emergency operation when the grid fails, while prime is the power a unit can supply continuously. That is why the DE65GC rating of 65 kVA / 52 kW is not suitable for continuous duty.
Can I order a different CAT generator instead of the DE65GC?
Yes, other CAT models are available on request, and the Caterpillar 50 Hz diesel generator range covers 6.8 to 7,150 kVA.
