Important: DOSPEL DRAGON, as stocked by Hybrid Energy, is a range of vertical-axis wind turbines only. We do not sell DOSPEL’s ventilation or heat-recovery products.

What DOSPEL DRAGON is known for

DRAGON is DOSPEL’s vertical-axis wind turbine line, built to generate electricity from wind arriving from any direction without needing to turn and face it — a useful complement to solar generation in the evening, in winter, or on overcast days.

What we stock

  • DOSPEL DRAGON Hybrid 1000W — vertical-axis wind generator with a 140W PV module
  • DOSPEL DRAGON 1000 and DRAGON 1000 COLOR
  • DOSPEL DRAGON 1500 and DRAGON 1500 COLOR
  • DOSPEL DRAGON 3 kW PACKAGE 3×1000, and PACKAGE 3 kW 3×1000 COLOR
  • DOSPEL DRAGON PACKAGE 4.5 kW 3×1500, and PACKAGE 4.5 kW 3×1500 COLOR

‘COLOR’ variants are a finish option on the same turbine. ‘PACKAGE’ models bundle three turbine units together at one site for a higher combined output.

How to pick a DRAGON model

A single 1000 or 1500 unit suits one small installation. The 3 kW and 4.5 kW packages — three units combined — suit a site where you want more combined output from a single location. The Hybrid 1000W model adds a small PV module to the same structure, useful if you want wind and solar output from one mount. Local wind conditions and mast height affect real-world output more than the model choice on its own, so it’s worth assessing your specific site before ordering — talk to us for help matching a model to it.

Frequently asked questions

What does ‘vertical-axis’ mean for a wind turbine?

It spins around a vertical shaft rather than a horizontal one, so it doesn’t need to turn to face changing wind direction — useful on sites with turbulent or shifting wind.

Is DOSPEL DRAGON the same as DOSPEL’s ventilation products?

No. We stock DOSPEL DRAGON wind turbines only; we do not sell DOSPEL ventilation or heat-recovery equipment.

Can a DRAGON turbine be combined with solar and a battery?

Yes — with a suitable controller, a DRAGON turbine can feed into a storage battery alongside a solar system, the same way described on our wind turbines category page.

Manufacturer data

“Start-up Speed: from 1.2m/s”

“Noise Level According to PN-EN 61400-11 Standard: <44dB at 8m/s at a distance of 3m”

— Dospel, official DRAGON specification, dospel.com

The noise figure is stated against the PN-EN 61400-11 standard, which matters if the turbine goes near the house or a property line. A 1.2 m/s start-up means it begins turning in light wind, but real annual output still depends on the wind conditions at your site.
