How the SUN-5K-G06P3-EU-BM2-P1 differs from the 4 kW and 6 kW models

Parameter 5 kW 4 kW 6 kW
Rated AC power 5 kW 4 kW 6 kW
Max. AC apparent power 5.5 kVA 4.4 kVA 6.6 kVA
Rated AC current 7.6 / 7.3 A 6.1 / 5.8 A 9.1 / 8.7 A
Max. AC current 8.4 / 8.0 A 6.7 / 6.4 A 10 / 9.6 A
Max. PV input power 7.5 kW 6 kW 9 kW

Everything else is the same across the three models: 2 MPPTs (120–1000 V, 20 + 20 A), 98.2% max. efficiency, IP65, 11.5 kg and 283 × 525 × 178 mm. In every case max. PV input power is 1.5 times the rated AC power (6 : 4, 7.5 : 5, 9 : 6), so the choice depends on the power class only, not on the size of the unit.

Choose the 5 kW model if you plan more than 6 kW but no more than 7.5 kW of panels. If 6 kW of panels is enough, the Deye SUN-4K-G06P3-EU-BM2-P1 (4 kW) will do; for up to 9 kW, take the Deye SUN-6K-G06P3-EU-BM2-P1 (6 kW). We help to choose the right power according to your roof and consumption; the consultation before purchase is free.

How much solar power can you connect to a 5 kW inverter?

Up to 7.5 kW of PV power can be connected to the Deye SUN-5K-G06P3-EU-BM2-P1: that is the max. input power stated by the manufacturer, 1.5 times its 5 kW rated AC power. String voltage must fit into the 120–1000 V MPPT range (max. input voltage 1100 V, start-up 140 V), and the operating current of each MPPT does not exceed 20 A. One string is provided for each MPPT, so the two independent circuits suit panels facing different directions or lit unevenly. The model fits a new system or an upgrade of an existing one; the zero export function helps to meet grid operator requirements.

Can you connect a battery to a grid inverter?

No, the Deye SUN-5K-G06P3-EU-BM2-P1 is a grid inverter, so a battery cannot be connected to it, and in the evening, when the sun is gone, electricity comes from the grid. Storage needs a hybrid inverter or a separate storage inverter. ESO (Lithuanian grid operator) describes the benefit of storage like this:

“Part of the surplus electricity generated can be stored in an energy storage device and used in the evening.”

ESO — Energy storage devices

If most electricity is used during the day, a grid inverter often fits better; if you need it mostly in the evening, compare with a hybrid inverter.

Installation and connection

The Deye SUN-5K-G06P3-EU-BM2-P1 connects to a three-phase grid (3L/N/PE, 230/400 V): rated AC current 7.6 / 7.3 A, max. 8.4 / 8.0 A. For monitoring you can choose a WiFi, LAN, 4G, Bluetooth or GPRS communication module, and above +45 °C output power is derated.

We handle it for you. We select the equipment for your site, deliver anywhere in Lithuania, install and connect it.
